by a group of senior psychotherapy professionals including: psychiatrists, clinical social workers, and clinical psychologists

:The Association set itself the following goals

1. To advance psychotherapy in Israel.
2. To advance the professional skills of practitioners.
3. To adhere to professional ethical standards.
4. To advance the public’s understanding of psychotherapy and related issues.

We seek to advance these goals by organizing conferences and seminars, by encouraging research and theoretical work in the field, by encouraging both the publication of academic works and providing forums for their presentation and discussion, and by involvement in activism and legislative issues related to psychotherapy and its role in society.

We invite members of the Association to be active visitors to this website, to receive updates about planned activities of the Israeli Association for Psychotherapy, to read/hear/watch a variety of lectures from past conferences, to react, relate, and submit professional articles to the site. We also invite new members to join the association. We aim to become a fruitful and lively home for members who engage in the work of psychotherapy.

Joining the members of the Israeli Association for Psychotherapy

The Israeli Association for Psychotherapy was established in 1973
by a group of senior psychotherapy professionals including: psychiatrists, clinical social workers, and clinical psychologists.
We are glad for any appeal to join the Israeli Association for Psychotherapy. Professionals who wish to take part in Association activities and promoting objectives are invited to register as members.

The registration process:

1. Fill out the Acceptance form to the Israeli Association for psychotherapy
2. Reading and signing the Rules and regulations form of the Association
3. Delivery of filled forms together with a check for 50 NIS (handling fees)

The Association accepts as members – psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and social workers according to the following criteria:
A. Psychiatrists: According to psychiatrist psychiatry expertise requirements.
B. Clinical Psychologists: psychologist with expertise as a clinical psychologist certificate.
C. Social workers, social workers with master’s degrees who: have completed accredited school of Psychotherapy, and worked for two years as part of Mental Health under the written laws.

Starting with the approval of ‘Rules and regulations‘, the Association also welcomes : Psychologists specialized in other areas like social workers dealing with psychotherapy, expression and/or creation therapists and clinical criminologists, who have a master’s degree (in psychology or social work) and have experience in Mental Health, which completed a recognized psychotherapy program and met all Completion Requirements (academic and training), all as provided in the Rules and regulations.

האיגוד מקבל כחברים פסיכיאטרים, פסיכולוגים קליניים ועובדים סוציאליים לפי הקריטריונים הבאים:
א. פסיכיאטרים: פסיכיאטר מומחה על פי הדרישות למומחיות פסיכיאטריה.
ב. פסיכולוגים קליניים: פסיכולוג בעל אישור מומחיות כפסיכולוג קליני.
ג. עובדים סוציאליים: עובדים סוציאליים בעלי תואר שני אשר: סיימו בית ספר מוכר לפסיכותרפיה, ועבדו שנתיים במסגרת בריאות הנפש לפי הכתוב בתקנון.
החל מאישור תקנון רשם העמותות, האיגוד מקבל לחברות גם : פסיכולוגים מהתמחויות טיפוליות נוספות, עובדים סוציאליים שעוסקים בפסיכותרפיה, מטפלים בהבעה וביצירה וקרימינולוגים קליניים, שהינם בעלי תואר שני, (בפסיכולוגיה או עבודה סוציאלית) ובעלי התנסות בבריאות הנפש, אשר סיימו תוכנית מוכרת לפסיכותרפיה ועמדו בכל דרישות ההשלמה (אקדמיות ובהדרכה), הכול לפי המפורט ב: תקנון העמותה.
